With great respect, we offer an open, weekly, virtual support group for CUNY SPH students promoting racial justice. President: Create Sunday meeting agenda and lead the weekly meetings. Meet with the Dean of Student Affairs and Business office weekly. Represent the students in the Student Governance Committee and with administration.
Vice-President: Manages club-related activities and documents. Meets with GSGA weekly along with the business office and Dean of Student Affairs to represent students and support the President with their duties.
Treasurer: Manages and maintains the budget and all budget-related documents. Oversees the awards processes and attends meetings with the business office weekly or biweekly.
Communications Officer: Manages the GSGA website, social media accounts, and Wednesday Weekly newsletters. Must continue to update social media with recent posts and weekly news.
Senator: Support GSGA and the student body in a variety of ways. Senators attend weekly meetings, help brainstorm ideas for new events, assist with elections, and vote on new measures.
USS Delegate and Alternate: Attends monthly plenary meetings and represents the school at CUNY-wide USS events. Votes on CUNY-wide resolutions and disseminates information from USS back to the students of SPH.
Also, it is National Public Health Awareness Week (NPHAW) from April 5-11. Today’s theme is Strengthening Community. Here are some tips from the NPHAW: one way you can get involved is by getting information on how your state uses public health funding and uses Health Impact Assessments to identify key public health concerns in your community. You can also engage your public health peers and elected officials on these topics through social media, including on Facebook and Twitter. Finally, ask questions at public forums, like virtual town halls, to start conversations about public health.
During NPHAW, there will also be events happening throughout the week. Simply click here to RSVP for them! Follow GSGA on Instagram and Facebook to stay updated on the upcoming themes during NPHAW.
