The GSGA awards are designed to support the academic experiences and professional growth of current CUNY SPH students while in pursuit of their graduate degrees. These awards are designed to support costs related to community service events, conferences, workshops, publications, and professional development opportunities that students may want to pursue.

2023 Award Guidelines and Applications
Manuscript Publication Award
To support CUNY SPH students in their academic and professional growth, the GSGA will provide monetary awards UP TO $1000 per award to matriculated students and those who have graduated within the last 12 months that publish peer-reviewed manuscripts related to public health in open-access journals.
Deadline: Monday May 1, 2023, at 11:59 PM EST.
Community Service Award
To recognize service to the community by currently registered CUNY SPH students while in pursuit of their graduate degrees, GSGA will provide monetary awards.

Deadline: For activities occurring between November 2, 2022 and May 1, 2023, applications are due no later than Monday May 1, 2023, at 11:59 PM EST.
Conference Award
To support attendance at professional conferences for continuing education and/or presentation of projects and research, GSGA will provide monetary awards to matriculated students to reimburse the costs of attending conferences relevant to public health. Awards may cover usual expenses including registration, transportation, lodging, meals, and poster-printing.

Professional Growth Award
To support the professional growth of current CUNY SPH students while in pursuit of their graduate degree, GSGA will provide monetary awards to matriculated students to reimburse costs for earning continuing education credits, taking certification exams, or other professional growth opportunities.
