There are various professional developments events and opportunities coming up! Also, the American Journal of Public Health (AJPH) is searching for a student to serve as an editor for the Journal in a one year, unpaid fellowship program. This student will work closely with the journal office and one of their Associate Editors. Check below to learn more and apply.

Fall 2021 Academic Planning Student Survey

Virtual Women’s Health and Activism Summit 2021
Wednesday, March 24 to Friday, March 26  | 10 am – 1 pm |  Virtual  |  Register

In recognition of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, the Women’s Advisory Board invites you to join us virtually for the 2021 Women’s Health and Activism Summit. This year’s theme, Reclaiming My Power, focuses on the WAB’s call to action of awakening power to create, nurture, and transform, and will incorporate discussions around communicating your needs in intimate relationships, wellness, mental health, combxploitation, and reproductive justice. The summit’s panel discussion will feature women sharing their ideas and experiences around wellness, visibility, and accountability. The panel will focus on inspiring, empowering, and strengthening women while answering the question, “How do we, as women and girls, thrive while experiencing the trauma of sexism, racism, colorism, transphobia, islamophobia, and harassment?” Virtual workshops will include “Breathwork; Living in Love,” “Communicating Your Needs in Your Intimate Relationships,” and “Acupuncture 101,” to name a few. The summit will feature keynote speakers Leymah Gbowee, 2011 Nobel Peace Laureate, and Liberian peace activist, Jamilah Lemieux, leading millennial feminist thinker and renowned cultural critic and writer with a focus on issues of race, gender, and sexuality, and Dr. Anisha Gandhi, Director of Racial Equity and Social Justice initiatives for the NYC Health Department’s Bureau of HIV.
