SPH & COVID-19

In the interest of protecting the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff, CUNY SPH will deliver all courses in distance learning format for the Spring 2021 semester.

Students, faculty, and staff will not be permitted on campus unless they have an essential business function that cannot be performed remotely. Any member of the SPH community seeking to come to campus must secure formal approval by submitting this request form. Upon approval from COVID-19 Campus Coordinator (Senior Associate Dean Susan Klitzman) they will be required to complete a Wellness Check Survey via Everbridge Safety Connection Pro/Contact Tracing mobile app before coming to campus.

Although our campus remains closed, SPH has complied with University and State guidelines and prepared a comprehensive “SPH Plan for Safe Campus Reopening” and has implemented the full range of required safety measures on our 125th Street campus. See below for details about how we are keeping our campus safe for those who must conduct essential business onsite.

It is disappointing to be unable to work and learn together on campus but as a school of public health, we are acutely aware of the risks inherent in requiring students and employees to travel to our campus during the pandemic, particularly as the majority of our community members use public transportation.

Please rest assured that our faculty and staff are well-equipped and well-prepared to deliver learning and services online, as evidence by the smooth and successful rapid transition to full distance learning last March.
